nbn has built a self-serving, business and operational support environment that aims to provide phone or internet providers with everything they need to support the services for their customers. Some of the functions of this environment include; transparent and automated systems for ordering, provisioning and billing, equal access for providers regardless of size, and the ability to cope with high transaction volumes and variable peaks.
Our broad operations provide our phone and internet providers with a comprehensive program for interoperability, fulfilling orders for services, assuring network performance and integrity, as well as supplying comprehensive health, safety and environmental programs.
Network and Service Operations Centre (NSOC)
The NSOC provides state-of-the-art network monitoring for the nbn™ broadband access network – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The NSOC provides a single point of contact for all of our phone and internet providers to activate services, manage enquiries and to rectify nbn™ access network faults.
The NSOC offers a multi-tiered support for phone and internet providers and the network:
- Customer Operations Team – 24/7 helpdesk support for our partners
- Network Surveillance Team – 24/7 network monitoring and proactive management of the network
- Operations Support Team – Support for a comprehensive network maintenance program
